We at Loughcrew had misgivings about putting on the champs 'cos we were not able to put our third course into operation so that left just the two eighteen target courses.
When I came on Sunday morning there was a deathly silence with not a soul in site. After arriving or reviving, the competition faced courses with varying in design and numbers.
all the members who came along to make this event enjoyable and memorable.

Absolute Great Day had by all. We thank you for coming to our Challenge shoot. Group 4`s are tricky little buggers. Well done to all who managed to hit them. The Question is now do we make them easier or harder for next year?? Have to keep you all on your toes . It was lovely to hear the comments - hope you enjoyed it. Weather wasn't too bad.

It has been described as one of the toughest courses in the country but where's the fun without the challenge. They came from near and far to enjoy the beautiful views we have to offer here in Kilnamack Woods. The weather held and the laughs could be heard echoing through the woods for miles around. A few choice words and tree climbing expeditions later and it was time for medals.
I hope that all of you lovely archers enjoyed the shoot we put on for you yesterday and a big thank you to you all for coming along. Also a big thank you to the team who put the shoot together. Fantastic job well done.

Limerick held a wonderful shoot and it was great to see the club return to hosting competitions following an absence. The shoot was fun and well organised with a great atmosphere. Well done to the hosts on a fine job. The targets challenged us. the fine weather pleased us and the banter was enjoyed too. It was nice shooting with Jane and Anastasia who did well. So hats off to the gang at Limerick Yeomen. looking forward to their next event already.

We arrived lost and found ourselves in the company of some very fine archers and friendly faces.
We enjoyed your wonderful course and quirky staircase immensely. We thank you for having us and can't wait for the next day out with you, the Limerick Yeomen. Dont leave it so long for your next shoot.
From all at Three Counties Archers

Well, we were not even sure WHEN the last shoot took place in Limerick, if the archive does not suffer from amnesia it was in 2014!!!
Therefore being a bit rusty as far as organising a shoot is concerned all went surprisingly smooth, even the weather palyed ball bar a few minutes of drizzle. Many thanks to the archers from 3 corners of the country who turned up to check if the guys in Limerick can still do it. It was a pleasure to see many happy faces and a credit to the guys who put in the hard work to get the course into shape.

Great day shooting at iac sbg.
There was a very friendly, yet competitive atmosphere. We really enjoyed it. Thanks and well done to Eric, Colm and Andrew on setting out a brilliant course.
Kind regards Aos Dana Archers
REPORTER: Don P
WEATHER: Fantastic for time of year
GETTING THERE: I'm sure that those who travelled far thought it well worth it
THE COURSE: Our course has bridges and walkways to try to keep folk out of the mud. IAC's course was like walking on a nice dry Wilton carpet. Envy!
THE TARGETS: All splendid, with some additions to the zoo. Judging by the scores, placing targets at an angle didn't seem to upset most competitors.
LUNCH: Ah, that soup - minestrone - bellissimo!
PRIZES: Medals - but really posh - all glittery and fabulous. And Andrew's contibution was a first - this is what you got (or didn't) - "an ornamental tablet, typically of metal, porcelain, or wood, or plaster that is fixed to a wall or other surface in commemoration of a person or event."
CONCLUSION: IAC could do better if they tried, but I don't quite know how.

After such an upheaval for you guys getting the course in shape was tough but none the less a challenge that you completed and should be proud of. The soup was to be adored, seconds, there were not. Such a great bunch of archers and friendly banter everywhere.
We thank you for having us from all at Three Counties Archers.

Many thanks,
To all the archers from around the country who turned up to shoot with us last Sunday.
The weather was fantastic and the atmosphere was very relaxed all through the shoot.
It was a pleasure to be able to do this shoot after our long break and we are now planning our next shoot.
All going well we will have a brand new course for you all to come and test yourselves on.
Thank you all for your help in getting the gear in after the shoot, it was much appreciated.
I think we all agreed the catering by the lads and the wonderful soup by Alex went down a treat (WELL DONE LADS)
We hope you all enjoyed your day with us as much as we did and we look forward to seeing you all soon at the next shoot.
Thank you for your support.

How to carve a masterpiece out of a jungle.
We were all exited traveling to Aos Dana’s new course! and we were not disappointed.
A great welcome we had on arrival with many happy faces and chats about what was in store for us on the day.
The weather the week before made the entry road a bit mucky but it was a different story on the course.
The shots that Liam and the gang had painstakingly carved out of the wilderness were to say the least (not good) but fantastic.
It was more than obvious the mountain of work that was done the week before the shoot.
Fair play to Liam and the gang for picking out some of the best shot positions we have seen in a long time.
The pop up cafe at lunch time was splendid and cheers to the ladies for feeding us all up before we headed back out for the second round.
Some might have thought the second round would be easier than the first but for most of us we were caught out by the Evil Genius who tweaked it to the max and
tricked us all into thinking we were better than we were.
Beautiful weather a fantastic course and great people to shoot with and against.
What a great day out we all had.
A shoot to remember for all the right reasons.
Cant wait for the next one!!!!!!
A BIG THANK YOU!
Well done to all.
The Gang at IAC.

The mud sweat and shivers were all out today. You guys beat the odds and laid out a challenging course. We had fun and laughs along the way. Thanks to all the lady's of the club and wives alike for feeding a hungry cold crew and keeping spirits up. Thank you for having us and we hope the weather looks brighter for your next shoot (not that that will deter us) from the gang at Three Counties Archers PS Arrows must be found HAHAHA
Loughcrew Archers SBG 12.02.2017
Shoot Reports
A cold day, so the fire was lit for the poor souls who feel the cold, me included. 45 turned up. Just right. Our new targets, including the carrot, the zombie, the snake and the gorilla seemed to be much appreciated.
I was told that some folk didn't attend because of the reduced styles. This was their loss and our loss, and was a pity because the reduced styles made the shoot absolutely no different from any other SBG, including the gains. The reduced styles is a Loughcrew thing and is not in any SIFA ruling.
The awards "ceremony" was very quick as there was nothing to give out ! Shock? Horror? No, not at all, as the awards (whatever they are - not medals!), when they arrive from the manufacturer will be dispatched to the winners.
Our thanks to all who attended and my thanks to Loughcrew clubbies who helped with the course.

A cold winters day was brightened by the cosy fire and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed your extra long bear shot and the swinging bird. Talk about throwing an archer off with a snake on a tree, here in Ireland, just when we thought Patrick had rid this country of them. Needless to say we all had a great day and we cant wait to see what you throw at us on our next outing with you all. Thanks for having us. The gang at Three Counties Archers
